 “Using Unindexed Records and the Full-Text Search at Family Search”<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

About the Event: <\/strong>Using unindexed records and full-text search allows genealogists to access a broader range of historical documents that may not be categorized in traditional databases. This method can help uncover valuable information about ancestors that might otherwise be overlooked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presenter: <\/strong>Megan Ann Clark Young (MACY) is the owner of MACY’s Genealogical Research, and is employed as a forensic genealogist for a land development company, conducting heirship research all over the country. She has spoken to national, regional, and local audiences, including the National Genealogical Society Family History Conference, The Allen County Public Library, The Historical Society of Pennsylvania, and The Virginia Genealogical Society.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She earned a Certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University in May of 2019, completed ProGen (48), and has attended numerous institutes and courses, including GRIP and IGHR. Megan is on the past-president and on the Board of Directors of the Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society, where she chairs the First Families of Western Pennsylvania lineage society. “Planning Fun Historical Events”<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

About the Event: <\/strong>There\u2019s nothing quite so rewarding as hearing kids leave a historic cemetery tour and remark, \u201cHey, that was really fun!\u201d All too often, history gets a bad reputation for being dull and uninteresting, but I\u2019ve found that historical events are a wonderful way to infuse life and storytelling into history. The bottom line: historical events create a space for the past to be engaging for people of all ages. Of course, planning a historical event isn\u2019t always an easy task, especially if event planning isn\u2019t your forte or first passion. Luckily, I\u2019ve planned several historical events over the last decade, so I come armed with lots of information to get you successfully started on your event planning journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
